Pregnant women who get 15 minutes a day of sun exposure (without sunscreen) during their las trimester may have children with stronger bones, reports a study. Sunlight boosts vitamin D levels, which helps calcium build bones.
Cutting meat intake cuts diabetes risk
People who eat more than three 6-oz. servings of red meat a week, and lots of full-fat cheese, are four times more likely to develop diabetes, a study reveals. The foods elevate blood levels of proteins linked to the disease.


Fish and olive oil can save your sight
They're rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are needed to dodge the vision-robbing eye disorder, age-related macular degeneration. One serving a week of fish lowers risk by 33%; 3.4 oz. weekly of alive oil cuts risk 52%, a study found.


Reduce stroke risk 20% with statins
The cholesterol-lowering drugs cut the risk of stroke by keeping blood vessels to the brain - as well as those to the heart - clear of blockages, reveals a new review of studies involving 165,000 people.


Bad dreams are good for you
Ordinary bad dreams (upsetting or downbeat dreams, but not nightmares) appear to help us sort out and cope with negative emotions, say reports in the journal Current Directions in Psychological Science.
